Available Workshops for 2004

Please note that certain workshops have limited seating and that they may not be offered in all three sessions.  Workshops are available for all three sessions unless otherwise indicated in the descriptions below.

If there is a workshop that you especially wish to attend,  please contact Rhonda and have your name added to the waiting list as cancellations sometimes occur. 

1) Career Counselling - Facilitator: Cathy Young (This workshop is only available for the third afternoon session) Limited seating available.

2) Weekender Spring Fashions 2004: Go from casual to business to evening one wardrobe for all three. Facilitator: Arlene Solomon (3 sessions) Limited seating available for the first morning session.

3) Duty to Accommodate Creating an inclusive workplace. Facilitators: Sandra Smith-Muir (CHRC), Janice Grant (PSAC) (1 session - first afternoon only ) Limited Seating Available

4) Nutrition, Lifestyles and Healthy Eating Healthy meals for the active family. Facilitator: Anne Marie Armstrong (3 sessions - the first afternoon workshop will prepare a meal - this will take place off site at the Atlantic Superstore) These workshops are full.

5) Mentoring - Who, what, where, when & why of mentoring. Facilitator: Darlene Higgenbotham (1 session - the second afternoon workshop) Limited seating

6) The PSAC Who we are and what we do for you. Facilitator: Nancy MacLean (1 session - morning only ) Limited Seating

7) Reiki - An alternative method to improve health, flexibility and balance. Facilitator: Gail Bannister (2 sessions: both afternoon sessions) Both sessions are full.

8) Personal Safety - Tips, threat awareness, identification and assessment. Your legal standing on self-protection. Facilitator: RCMP Cst. Angela Corscadden (3 sessions) All three sessions are full.

9) We're All Different but Were All OK - A look at diversity in the workplace. Facilitator: Crystal Taylor (1 session - morning only) Limited seating available

10) Leadership Training for Women - What is leadership? Who can be a leader? How do I become a leader? Facilitator: Crystal Taylor (1 session - first afternoon session only) This session is full.

11) Power Talk: Basics of communications with pointers and practical suggestions for everyday business use. Facilitator: Joan Myers (2 sessions: morning and first afternoon ) There are a few seats remaining in the afternoon workshop.

12) How Heart Smart are You? What you need to know about womens heart health. Facilitators: Heart & Stroke Foundation (2 sessions: morning and first afternoon ) Very few seats available for the morning session and lots for the afternoon session.

13) Raising Healthy Girls: Aimed at women who want to share strategies for fostering young girls self-esteem, independence and individuality. Facilitator: Christine Saulnier (NEW - this workshop is now being offered for the 2 afternoon sessions) The first afternoon session is full.  There are a few seats available for the second afternoon workshop. 

14) Making It On Your Own: Womens rights in marriage, divorce and custody. Facilitator: Kim Johnson, Lawyer (1 session - second afternoon session) Seating available.

15) Investing for the Novice: Basics on dipping your toes in the investment waters. Facilitators: Sue Springett & Allison Edwards (Investors Group) (1 session: morning session only) This workshop is full.

16) Investing for the Experienced Investor: Now that youve gotten your feet wet its time to dive in! Facilitators: Sue Springett & Allison Edwards (Investors Group) (1 session: first afternoon only) This workshop is full.

17) An Introduction to Salsa! A great cardio workout. Facilitator: Leslie Carvery (2 sessions: both afternoon sessions ) These workshops are full.

18) Massage: How massage improves circulation, lymphatic systems, etc. Facilitator: Erika Williams (Sports Massage Clinic) (1 session: morning session only  the first 18 will receive shoulder/neck massage!) This workshop is full.
