Each year, March 8th is celebrated around
the world as International Women's Day (IWD).
This is the day to focus upon and remember
the struggles of women around the world. It is a chance for women to reflect on the past and on-going progress and gains
made in the struggle for peace, equal rights and social advancement. It commemorates the hard work and dedication to
women around the world who are at the forefront of advancing women's issues.
The next International Women's Day event will be
celebrated Monday, March 8th, 2010 and the IWD Organizing Committee is excited to offer many educational
and worthwhile workshops to help us with our celebration.
Nova Scotian women from Federal Departments, Agencies, Federal Crown Corporations, the Military,
the Public Service Alliance of Canada, and their retirees are invited to attend this year's International Women's Day celebration.
